IBBS 17 – the 17th Triennial International Biodeterioration & Biodegradation Symposium is being held in Manchester, UK from 5th – 8th September 2017. The theme is “Preservation & Protection of Materials” and there will be sessions on:

- Biocides
- Biocorrosion
- Biodegradation
- Biofilms and Biofilm Control Strategies
- Bioremediation
- Constructional Materials, Including Paints
- Cultural Heritage/Cultural Property
- Decontamination
- Emerging Topics
- Fuels and Lubricants
- Modern Investigative Methods
- Pharmaceuticals
In addition, there will be a session of short papers specifically aimed at young/early career scientists and for researchers to present “work in progress”.
Submission of Abstracts:
Oral presentations will be 20 minutes long with a session of short, 10 minute, papers for young scientists and researchers to present “work in progress”.

There will be prizes for the best oral presentation, young scientist’s presentation and poster.

Mayoral Reception:
A complimentary reception hosted by the Lord Mayor of Manchester at the city’s town hall (pictured).
